While we were at the DI yesterday, I felt like I hit the jackpot in the fabric department!
I found bags of lace for $1 and $2 dollars, and bags of fabric for $1.
This is what I was able to do with what I bought:
I got all these bags of fabric. Each bag had 6 different pieces for $1 total, so that is basically $.17 each piece!
This is how they came:
There were 7 types of ribbon, and the bag was $1. So, that's basically $.14 each type of ribbon.
The lace had 7 different kinds for $2. So, that is basically $.28 each piece.
Stitched everything in place, and zigzagged around the birds. I zigzagged the legs and beaks of the birds as well.
RED BIRD TOWEL
Towel - $1
Bird fabric - 2 pieces at $.16 each = $.32
Lace white style - $.28
Lace (red) - $2
Total: $3.60
BLUE BIRD TOWEL
Towel - $1
Bird fabric - 1 piece $.28
Ribbon blue style - $.16
Lace white style - $.28
Total: $1.72

Those are soooo cute. I love that you go through and figure out EXACTLY how much each thing costs. That is the kind of stuff that I do and people think that I am TOTALLY CRAZY. It is nice to see that I am not the only one. Great Job!!!

ReplyDeleteYou DI has great stuff!! (So glad you mentioned this blog on your other one). I love to see what creative/crafty people are making these days.
ReplyDeleteYou were always so good at seeing the potential of something... I admired that in you, since I have no such vision. :) I love your creativity! .. and envy your free time to work on such projects. Is that what it's like to have older kids?
What do you do with everything you make, btw? Do you use it yourself? Or pass along as gifts? I'm just curious.
I might be in your neck of the woods in July. If I can swing it, I'd love to drop by! Let's be in touch!
