Reusable Shopping Bag tutorail and LIST!

I got to film a fun episode for MY CRAFT CHANNEL a month ago. It was a blast, and Kristine Mckay is a doll! I am so glad they asked me to do it!!! Thank you My Craft Channel!
You can watch it below!

Here is another reusable shopping bag idea I didn't share that day, that I thought you might like, It's a SUPER easy pillow sham!!! Links to the rest of the projects I shared on the show can be seen at the bottom of the post.

Reusable shopping bags make perfect pillow shams for indoor or out. They are easy to clean, and easy to make!

I have posted a tutorial in the past for the same technique to sew a pillow case. You can see it HERE. Let's get started. Use a bag preferably without any writing on the front or back. I got mine at Homegoods for $1.

Cut off the straps, and cut a square out of the front.

Leave the bottom attached to the back.

Make the back piece the same width, and then fold in half and cut in half.

Place the top of the half on top of the front of the bag, with the nice sides facing each other. You will want the finished edge to be in the middle of the bag, as this is what you will see after you have sewn the pillow and turned it right side out.

Then, place the other half on top of that, again... nice sides facing each other.
Pin everything in place, and sew around the perimeter.
Cut the bulk out of the corners.
Turn right side out.

Here is a view from the back. It will be a little hard to fit the pillow into the sham, as there is no give in the material we used, but it will work.

There you have it... a super easy pillow sham that works great for indoors or out! It is one you won't have to tell your kids not to touch.

I am glad you stopped by, and hope you have enjoyed these fun, easy, and inexpensive projects! Now, go out and buy yourself a bag or two, and get crafting!

Have a Happy and Creative Day!

Pillow Sham {Reusable Shopping Bag - Part 7}

Reusable shopping bags make perfect pillow shams for indoor or out. They are easy to clean, and easy to make! This is the last of my reusable shopping bag series. I am sure you will find it super easy!

I have posted a tutorial in the past for the same technique to sew a pillow case. You can see it HERE. Let's get started. Use a bag preferably without any writing on the front or back. I got mine at Homegoods.

Cut the bulk out of the corners.

Turn right side out.

$6 Jewelry Organizer {Reusable Shopping Bag - Part 6}

JEWELRY ORGANIZER

I was at Homegoods, and FELL IN LOVE with these bags!!! They were $2.99 each, and smaller than the $.99 bags, but the colors were SO LOVELY, that I couldn't pass them up. Like I say... they are smaller, and thicker, so I knew they would be perfect for holding large amounts of jewelry for an extended amount of time.

Do you remember what I was doing before? You can read about it HERE. If you don't want to read about it, here is a photo. My son is jealous!

On to the tutorial...
Cut the sides and straps off your background bag, leaving the finished edges intact.

Do the same to the bag you will use for the pockets.

You will also be using the bottom, so cut it where the folded part meets the side, then cut on the fold.

Cut strips out of the bag you are using for pockets (I only used the tops - finished edges), and place them where you want on the organizer. I could have made more pockets, but I liked the background too much, and didn't want to cover it up.

I used the bottom of the bag for the pockets on the other side. I like using the fold that is already there. Notice how I left the finished edge on the sides?

Cut the straps in pieces, and pin them in place on the bottom of the bag. I thought about putting a button on these, so they could open, but that is too much work ;)

I did 3 loops on one side, and 4 on the other.

Sew all your straps in place. I know I could have made this look better, but no one is going to see it (besides you), and I know you won't judge ;)

Then, sew each pocket on at the sides.

Sew across the bottom of each pocket. Sew vertical lines where you want the pocket separation to be. I didn't put many separating lines in. You might want more.

The picture doesn't show it very well, but you need to sew a straight line across the top, leaving a gap that will fit the head of a hanger.

It will look like this from the top.

Sew the bottom where the fold is, so it won't flap out when you hang your jewelry on it.

The sides will be left open, so you can slide a hanger in, and through the top. I started with a regular sized hanger, but went to a child's hanger, so the sides of the hanger didn't hang out the sides of the organizer.

$.25 Wallet {Reusable Shopping Bag Part 5}

Yes, you read it right. I said $.25 wallet, because you can get 4 of these out of a $1 reusable shopping bag. This one can be a little more confusing, but it's not so bad. ;)

Start with whatever bag you choose. Cut out a section about 8 inches down, by 11 inches across. I cut too much out in this picture, and had to cut it down. You can decide if you want to use the top (finished part) of the bag or not.
Cut the back (patterned section) off the bag, and cut the side part on the seam, leaving the patterned portion connected to one of the sides.

Fold the side back in.

Then fold the patterned portion to meet the bottom of the green side.

Then, fold it where the pieces you folded in half meet.
This will make the inside of the wallet.

Now, take the side portion you had left over, and fold it in half.

Lay it on top of the inside of the wallet, and see if it is the desired height.

Pin it just to the middle section.

Sew two vertical lines, to make the pockets large enough to fit a credit card. You need to do this before sewing all the sides together, or you won't be able to fit any bills behind the cards. You can also sew a straight line down each side at this point if you want.

What you are looking at here, is the wallet unfolded after sewing the slots. You see the inside, and the back.

This is how the inside will look - this is where the dollar bills will go when the card pocket is folded up. Make sense???

Fold it in half, and zigzag the sides. You could also do a cute fancy stitch if you want :)

I forgot to do this the first time, but you need to sew a regular line of stitching across the bottom, or your cards will fall out. I found out the hard way, and was finished taking pictures before I realized. So, picture a line of stitching across the bottom black band.

Last thing to do is add a Velcro dot (or 2 if you want). I only added 1.
Look how it folds up so cute!

That really wasn't so bad, now was it???
