Halloween Pennant Printables

Halloween pennant flags are my favorite thing this year! I designed a couple different kinds. They are available in my etsy shop. You can purchase them HERE and HERE. They are perfect for gifts and sticking in plants or containers around the house, or in boo baskets.

What would you use a pennant flag for this Halloween?

Nuts For You Valentine

A healthy, clever and adorable Valentine? I've got you covered. Woodland themed everything is so popular these days. I knew I had to work it into a darling little valentine. It's perfect for that health-nut on your love-list!

The thing that makes this Valentine extra special is the nut filled capsule. I love these fabulous capsules by Bake it Pretty. They are only $2.50 for a 12 pack. They also have local pickup for any of you that live on the Wasatch front. I can only imagine the things you could fill them with!

Here's the free 4x6 printable for you to download to your computer and print (personal use only).

This is an 8x10 that you can download and frame (for personal use only).

I hope you like it as much as I do!

The squirrel and acorn clipart came from HERE.

Matchbox Valentine

This is one Valentine you have probably not seen anywhere else! The cuteness is overflowing with these darling little Valentines dolls that you find living in their house when it's opened. I have been crazy about matchbook dolls ever since I discovered them a few months back. I have a whole entire Matchbox Pinterest Board dedicated to them! I knew they would be perfect for Valentines.

The problem was… I couldn't find a kit to make them anywhere. So, I just had to create one. These are so easy to make! I wrapped them up in an easy to use printable. All you need to do is download the following printable to your computer, and print it in 4x6. For personal, noncommercial use only.

Choose a back card:

Get your scissors, tape and a matchbox. Empty your matchbox. Yes… I have a big bag full of unused matches in my house. You will too.

Cut the matchbox liner off the top. Cut the kids out. Cut the bottom house strip off. Leave a little bit of the white above the polka dotted line. You might want to make one first, just to make sure it all fits. I have bought matchboxes in 2 places, and they were sized differently each time. I have left wiggle room for you.

Wrap the inside of the matchbox, folding the paper in place, and tape in the back. It will not overlap. Wrap the house paper around the outside matchbox, and tape in the back. It will overlap.

Cut the little people out however you like, and place them in the box, so whomever opens it gets a nice surprise! You can even write a little love note, and slip it inside. Tape the matchbox to the back piece. They are cute on their own as well.

These would be a perfect craft to do with your kids or grandkids, and even at a class Valentines party!

Sympathy Printable

A friend in our neighborhood lost a family member a few weeks ago. I knew I wanted to give them a gift to express my sympathy. I often struggle with knowing what to do when someone loses a loved one. It is a very personal experience. I felt like this gift might be appropriate.

I created this printable, and mounted it to a piece of wood that I painted gray.

You are welcome to right click to download it to your computer and print it if you think it would be a nice gift for someone. (For personal noncommercial use only.) I tied it with a piece of tulle, and a paper tag from Pick Your Plum. I love having blank tags on hand. You never know when you will need one.

Hopefully you will be able to make someone's day a little bit brighter.

Christmas Neighbor Gift - Diffraction Glasses

This is the most favorite thing I have ever done for my neighbors for a neighbor Christmas gift!!! It is the time of year where driving around at night looking at the holiday lights is magical! These glasses make it even more memorable.

In each envelope are pairs of paper diffraction glasses. You know the kind of glasses you wear, and it turns all the light you look at into giant prisms?

I got the glasses in a set of 100 on ebay. I paid about $20 when I bid. (I think I got lucky.) You can buy-it-now for $39.99 including shipping, or make an offer. They ship very quickly. I only pass them out to the kids in each family, not the parents. It mades the glasses go farther.

I created a free printable for you if you choose to do the same thing. Download to your computer, and print as many as you like. (For personal use only.) I printed 4 per page on card stock.

I slipped the glasses into cute little paper bags form Pick Your Plum. The neighbor kids have LOVED them. I thought it was a fun thing to pass out instead of treats.

I got this idea from Megan Pyrah at Brassy Apple. She buys diffraction glasses every year for her family to use when they go out to look at Christmas lights. I remember having plastic diffraction glasses when I was little, but didn't realize that they make paper glasses as well. Thanks for the idea Megan. We might be using them for the 4th of July as well!

Christmas Teacher Gift with free printable!

My kids are on year round school. Tomorrow is their last day at school until January!!! It just dawned on me today, that I need to give their teachers a holiday gift. They each have two teachers, so I have to come up with 4 gifts.

Teaches gifts are always so hard for me to figure out. I found this cute holiday pasta at World Market today, and thought it was perfect! I created this cute little label, and hooked it on over the original packaging. You are welcome to download it to your computer and print your own.

I think it turned out so darling!!! Hopefully this helps if you are also looking for something to give your kids teachers this holiday season.

Ballerina Good Luck

Tryout season is upon us, and I created this darling little printable for my daughter to give to her friends that were trying out for, The Nutcracker, as a little good luck! You are welcome to load this copy onto your computer, and use it yourself. Just remember to give me the credit!

I got the little ballerinas at Bakers Cash and Carry, in SLC, UT. They are 6 for $.89. They only come in pink and blue dresses, but I painted them the colors I wanted with nail polish. I used them the other day for a dance class party, that I will share on my blog next. You won't want to miss it.

The rulers are from Walmart, and were 4 for $1. Not too bad! I just punched holes, and threaded tulle through the holes in the paper, and ruler hole, and tied a knot around the ballerina's foot. I love the way they turned out!

I wish the dancer in your life all the luck in the world!

Primary 5, Lesson 21 Printable

Just working on my lesson for tomorrow, and thought I would share the printable I designed with you. I know this is not my finest work, but I have moved to a new operating system, and am short on time :) I made it in two colors, so the kids can choose what they want. This is Proverbs 15:1. It is 4x6.

Enjoy!

Reindeer art tutorial

I was going through instagram the other day, and came across a picture from my super talented friend, Amy Twitty. It was of her and a bunch of girl friends who made darling glitter reindeer art. I was instantly crazy about it, and went to her blog. You can see the post with instructions HERE.  A few minutes later, I was in the car, on the way to Home Depot for wood. (This seems to be a pattern for me.) I started out making one for myself only, but it was so easy, that I ended up making a bunch more!

All you need for this craft is wood or canvas. I used wood I got at Home Depot. It's just 12 inch by 8 foot common board (pine). It was around $13. I had the nice worker cut it down to 14inch pieces for me. They just got a new blade, so it required very little sanding. Happy Day! This will equal six 12x14 boards, and one 12x12ish board.

You will not believe how easy the next part is!!!

I used this coloring page, which I cropped, printed on card stock and cut out. I like that I didn't have to pay for vinyl, and I am feeling a little over the look of vinyl anyway.

I cut carefully, and made sure to make nice cuts, so I could use both pieces of the silhouette.

I laid one piece on top of the wood I had already painted, and traced around it with the galaxy marker I mentioned in my last post.

After that, I filled in a bit with marker. I left some of them just marker, and painted over others. I like the way they both turned out.You can see on this one, I painted the board cream first.

The red marker actually looks a little pink, which is fine for some people. You can see I painted over this one with red. I didn't even have to be very careful, and take it to the edges, because it blended so well. I painted the edges gray. The red I used is by Americana, and it's called, cherry red. I like that you can see the brush strokes. It is sitting on my dining room table.

For this one, I used the inside of the silhouette, and traced around it with white, leaving the deer natural looking.

Then, I went around all the edges with red, minus the deer body, and I love how it turned out!

Here is the same technique, but in red. The sides are painted white. This one is my husband's favorite.

I designed this little printable in pic monkey. Which I LOVE!!!

I made this one tracing the outside of the stencil, and leaving the wood around natural. I can't decide which I like the best. By the way... the deer pictured below, is done on the end piece of the wood that is 12x12, so it is more square.

I love how cute it is all wrapped up with gray yarn and the CUTE printable.

Thank you Amy for the inspiration. You rock! I think I am going to use this technique soon to make some dinosaur prints for my toddlers under-the-stairs playroom. I am already excited!!!
